Sustainability Ratings

Sustainability rating agencies typically assess a Company’s exposure to environmental, social and governance (ESG) risk, their capacity to manage and mitigate such risks, as well as their sustainability-related performance. American Tower participates in many reputable, international rating agency evaluations to provide greater detail on our sustainability efforts, as well as to meet stakeholder transparency expectations.

The CDP is a non-profit organization that runs a global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts.

American Tower earned a B for its 2022 CDP response.

Ecovadis is a sustainability rating services agency that measures a company's sustainability management system through its policies, actions and results.

American Tower received a silver sustainability rating from EcoVadis in 2023.

GRESB is an independent organization providing validated ESG performance data and peer benchmarks for investors and managers to improve business intelligence, industry engagement and decision-making.

American Tower received a score of 89 for its 2023 GRESB response.

The ISS Environmental and Social QualityScores measures and identifies risk in environmental and social areas of concern through analysis of company disclosures. The ISS Governance QualityScore is a data-driven scoring and screening solution designed to enable quality reviews of corporate governance.

American Tower’s most recent ISS QualityScores were 1, 1 and 1 for Environment, Social and Governance, respectively, which indicate low exposure to ESG risk.

MSCI is a leading provider of critical decision support tools and services for the global investment community. The MSCI ESG ratings aim to measure a company’s management of financially relevant ESG risks and opportunities.

American Tower received a leader score of AA for its 2023 MSCI ESG rating.

Sustainaltyics is a leading independent ESG and corporate governance research ratings and analytics firm. Scores are designed to help investors identify and understand financially material ESG risks at the security and portfolio level.

American Tower’s most recent Sustainalyics score is 12.6, which indicates low exposure to ESG risk.
